Threat to Studham’s Historic Parish Church?
Village Appeal to Raise Funds for Essential Repairs to the Church Fabric

The first phase of the repair work, to the south aisle, has been successfully completed and we are now planning the next stages, to the chancel (i.e, the altar section) and the tower. This is most likely to be a two-year project, with work in the chancel scheduled for later this year and the tower work taking place in 2010. The timing is subject to funding because there is a phenomenal cost, in the region of £190,000.

The PCC and the Friends of Studham Church will be working even harder to raise money through social events, we shall be making two sets of grant applications to charitable trusts and we will be able to recover the VAT.  But there remains a significant shortfall of over £90,000

We are now appealing for help from the village community. The church is important to village people. It is a Grade 1 Listed building and part of our cultural heritage. Many people choose to use the church for their weddings, baptisms and funerals, and for concerts. The churchyard remains open for burials and people enjoy tending graves and walking through the churchyard.

Over the next weeks and months we shall be appealing personally to everyone asking for donations so that jointly we can maintain the church in good order for future generations. We are encouraged that we have already received several very generous donations, for which we are most grateful.

Please help all you can, by making a donation. You might also feel you could help the fundraising team to approach some of your neighbours.
