

Whipsnade Common and The Green provide a lovely open, natural space for walkers to enjoy, and car drivers to admire, as they pass through the village. However, with little or no grazing of livestock these days, brambles and other expansive vegetation tend inexorably to encroach upon those open spaces. So it is down to a loyal band of local volunteers, whose healthy toil helps to keep some of the scrub at bay. If you would like to lend a hand on occasions, to enjoy the fresh air and meet new people, then get in touch with Ken France (872375) or just turn up on the day (from 11:00am) with stout boots, gardening gloves and your own picnic! Our next session is likely to be the first Sunday in the month, but please contact Ken in advance to check.

Dom, the cute, lively youngster – who turned one this month -
Dom is named after BBC Radio One breakfast show newsreader Dominic Byrne, whose favourite animal at the zoo is the pup’s dad, Berkley.

Just like last year, the Dell Farm Fun Day, on Sunday 22nd June, was bathed in warm, sunny weather, and hundreds of visitors from all over South Beds and beyond came to enjoy the delights on offer.
